By 1969 at age 21, this enterprising young man had started his own footwear importing/exporting and retail business. One of his first retail outlets primarily sold Australian sheepskin boots and because of his manufacturing experience he was able to select top grade sheepskins and personally create his own boot designs. It was back then, in 1969, that the dinkum (original) Warmbat Australian sheepskin boot was born.
"During those early years," He recalls, "Most of our customers were surfers wanting to warm up their feet on those cold winter mornings. So I would load up my old ute - that's Aussie for pickup truck, mate - with sheepskin boots and head down to the beach where they would buy the boots right out of the back of my ute."
We approach the design of every Warmbat sheepskin boots and footwear "feet first," because while fashion is imperative in our footwear, comfort is critical. Any other apparel item can make concessions to style, but in shoes, if the fit isn't right your feet will know it. We know it, too, and we live by it. A comfortable, cozy fit is the first priority of every pair of Warmbat sheepskin boots, slippers and other leading footwear styles for the future.
